Building on the word “Apollo” and the naming of those NASA missions, I now want to draw special attention to a lyric that’s sung twice in this movement to drive the point home about the political and world scene during the Apollo 8 flight and place this lyric in spiritual context of this mission.

The scene that underscored the Apollo mission in the 60s was a dark and anxious period for many people, so when the Astronauts launched, they departed a divided world with distressed and weary souls.
So the lyrics 𝘼𝙨 𝙬𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙞𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙠 not only imply the 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙠 skies of space but is to recognize the 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙠 times and tension on the planet; hearts were hurting; it was a grief-stricken globe they were sailing from.

And it's interesting to note that when one explores the definition of the word Apollo, it means;

So this exquisite definition played so poetically to the spiritual outcome of that mission.
It was a mission that gifted the world that uplifting image because we all owned a piece of that view, and it offered the urgently needed universal balm and spiritual nectar for the desperate souls back on Earth.
