About
AMANDA

As Ravinia Music Magazine wrote:
“Sometimes an idea is so inspired, so perfect, you have to wonder: How did this not exist before?... Now there’s a new work of genius to elevate into this class:
The Moons Symphony, composed by Amanda Lee Falkenberg”
Placing her alongside the revolutionary artistry of Mozart’s Don Giovanni and the cinematic impact of The Wizard of Oz.
Amanda Lee Falkenberg is an award-winning composer and pianist known for her evocative storytelling through orchestral and choral music. She earned her piano performance degree from the Elder Conservatorium in Adelaide and began her career as a ballet accompanist with The Australian Ballet before moving into composition for film, theatre, and the concert stage.
Her groundbreaking work, THE MOONS SYMPHONY, received its premiere recording by the London Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Marin Alsop, created in collaboration with leading planetary scientists and NASA experts.
In 2023, the MOONS Symphonic Suite was performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the Ravinia Festival, again conducted by Marin Alsop.
In 2026, THE MOONS Choral Suite will receive its first performance in Pennsylvania with the NEPA Philharmonic under the baton of Mélisse Brunet.
In a remarkable gesture of symbolism, the orchestral score for THE MOONS SYMPHONY now resides on the Moon’s South Pole, carried aboard NASA’s Odysseus lander — a tribute to the final movement’s celebration of Earthrise and our shared planetary home.
Amanda is also the creator of LUNAR, an interdisciplinary education platform that merges music, planetary science, and art — inspiring students and lifelong learners to explore the cosmos through curiosity, creativity, and wonder.
