In true "count down" spirit, and with 7-weeks until the launch of THE MOON SYMPHONY’s professional recording, we wish to acknowledge those who have contributed to its evolution by focusing on a movement each week.

This first week will feature the most volcanic moon in our solar system, IO.

We will enjoy spotlighting planetary scientists, NASA's space missions, space artists, astronauts, musicians, and some fun moon facts throughout the week!

We begin D▲Y #1 by reflecting on an event in 2020 where Marin Alsop facilitated a read-through of the music with her orchestra in Vienna as a dress rehearsal ahead of the recording by the London Symphony on the 20th of May 2022.

Below is a video of Io's music filmed from Vienna's orchestral read-through.

1st Movement "Celestial Tug of War"

And of course, talking about Moon Io would not be complete without a cameo cat appearance of ZINNIE, whose favourite moon is "paws down" Io.
